Created in 1995, the Cup of Europe of Rugby joins together clubs of France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and of Italy within the same competition organized by the ERC.
The competition is sponsored by Heineken and thus bears the name of this beer mark Heineken Cup.
However, because of the restrictions in France on the sponsorship of the sporting competitions by the alcohol manufacturers (law Evin), this one is generally called there H-Cup.
